a) A musical discovery- not LENR
Yesterday, after sending out EGO OUT I wanted to relax- so Judith and i watched MEZZO TV- classical music. Surprise a very original musical piece that captivated us immediately, unknown - already started so we did not know what it it was- my wife is talented and knows a lot. Who is the composer/ We have tried with the Shazam https://www.shazam.com/ - it works for a surprisingly broad range of musical pieces classic and not- this time it failed to show what we were listening to.
The piece was marvelous, very sad and I told it is about "The burial of the gravedigger", Judith said she believes it can be by Stravinsky.
And she was right- using the Web we discovered it was Funeral song by him, lost for 100 years and recently rediscovered:
http://www.prospektmag.com/2016/11/long-awaited-return-lost-funeral-song-stravinsky-masterpiece/
Revelation- I have to pay more attention to the music of Igor Stravinsky - and of his mentor- Rimsky Korsakoff
b) LENR and victims.
I am still trying to convince my friends and colleagues about the real, fundamental cause of the great troubles of Cold Fusion during its early history. By the way just these days we can read a lot about that period.
It is a trend to antropomorphise the evolution, giving priority to the human factors and to misjudge the scientific-technical ones.
It was a classic, 4 columns attacking the newborn science:-
- hot fusion scientists, frustrated by their own insuccesses;
- fossil energy supporters;
- arrogant theoretical physics dogmatists;
- all round maniacal denialists of everything new.
However all these could have been defeated by solid, reproducible good experimental results however the fifth column was and remained up to today the fifth column:
- inherent incurable weakness of excess heat results (sporadic, weak. transient, uncertain, unpredictable, barely manageable) due to the incompleteness of the
PdD LENR cell and system. Cold Fusion is a victim of its own weakness all the other attacks are only aggravating factors
Fifth column is a concept, metaphor one year older then myself:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fifth_column
However I have received a long list of the victims of Andrea Rossi- you can see it here:
http://egooutpeters.blogspot.ro/2016/12/dec-02-2016-lenr-info.html?showComment=1480735691934#c2942018523281356993
Repeated things, however interesting hat the detractors and character assassins
of Rossi also constitute a category of his victims. Or Industrial Heat which refused contractual payment when a valid and unquestioned contract existed.

Techsource Incorporated, 20251 Century Blvd., Germantown, Maryland 20874, U.S.A Abstract:
Tritium in the environment comes from several sources: anthropogenic nuclear weapons and commercial nuclear reactors, atmospheric cosmic-ray production, and geotritium. Geotritium and its decay product 3 He is found in the earth’s magmatic system evidenced by tritium emission from volcanoes and 3 He anomalies associated with MORB (Mid-Ocean Ridge Basalts), OIB (Oceanic Island Basalts) and deep mantle plumes. The 3 He can be accounted for assuming a radiogenic 3 3 T He ( ) component as opposed to a primordial source. It is proposed that the 3 d pe t ( ,) weak interaction fusion (WIF) reaction (Q = 5.474 MeV) is the source for both the geotritium and anomalous 3 He found in nature. The radiogenic lifetime for the WIF reaction, 3 e dp e t , in a metal hydride geologic environment, such as FeH/FeD in the core and mantle of the earth, was calculated to be 9 1.61 10 . dep x yr The anomalous 3 He produced by the WIF reaction, a radio chronometer, was used to correlate and date mantle basalt processes deep within the earth. The p pe d ( ,) WIF reaction (Q = 1.442 MeV) with a lifetime 12 2.54 10 . pep x yr was also examined as a possible geochronometer for the formation interval of the oceans, the duration of the earth’s melting and degassing prior to the formation of the oceans. The formation age of the oceans was determined to be 3.93 billion years ago in good agreement with geologic magmatic activity and continental crust formation.

You make more risky choices as the day wears on, chess study suggests

Early birds and night owls have radically different daily habits. But a new study suggests they both share one trait: As the clock ticks, their decisions get dicey. Neuroscientists examined the quality of moves in more than one million games of chess in an online database. They charted the decisions of 99 prolific players by gauging the time they took for each move and its usefulness in leading to a victory—factors that impact games like high-speed tiebreakers in the World Chess Championships, which took place in New York earlier this week. As expected, early risers played more games in the morning, whereas night owls were active at dusk and beyond. But both sets of players took longer for each move and made better game choices early in the day and soon after they woke up. Come evening, their game play quickened by 2.5%, while their moves grew less effective by the same margin on average. The study revealed a pervasive switch in decision strategy from safe play in the morning to riskier—faster and less successful—moves at sundown, the team will report next month in Cognition. The finding shows we may have greater control over our decisions earlier in the day and soon after we wake up, regardless of when we prefer to sleep. As we grow tired, our bodies’ need for sleep could dictate the quality of our choices—no matter how focused we think we might be.

A HEARTFUL MESSAGE FROM RUSS GEORGE
I was delighted to read the new paper in the Journal Nature about ‘fusion’ in the core of the Earth. http://www.nature.com/ articles/srep37740
What a delight to see this new paper. So the Journal Nature has now come around from its flagrant condemnation and ridicule of all things cold fusion to publishing about it being the source of heat in the inner Earth (and other planets of course). I can testify that I engaged in a discussion of this very mechanism with Martin Fleischmann at the very first meeting on cold fusion while he and Giuliani Preparata and I shared a bottle of wine to cool our tempers if not our passion. Here’s a link to my blog post about my late friends,
The dastardly pundits at Nature deserve a special place in hell for their avaricious dogmatic approach to discovery of the mysteries of Nature. I am quite sure Maddox is occupying a well-deserved spit there now. The great tragedy of science is that most of the community behave like gentlemen but of course being the real substance of the stew of knowledge they are not what floats to the top, what floats is the scum and there is no greater repository of the scum and shysters of Science than the editors and publishers and owners of the Journal Nature.
Within the microcosm of the ecology of atoms the Earthly core conditions described in this paper are not at all uncommon. That is why cold fusion is and always has and will be a principal part of behavior of hydrogen in nature.

Regarding: "Cold Fusion is a victim of its own weakness all the other attacks are only aggravating factors"
ReplyDeleteThis weakness is entirely understandable and even to be expected. There is a time for everything and LENR's time has not yet come. These first stumbling and befuddled LENR explorers were dealing with issues that were far over their heads. It will take a century or two before the new foundations of the science will be laid down to an extent sufficient that makes LENR's plausibility generally acceptable. Until that future day, we continue to stubbornly poke at the new fire with are pitiful tools in a random and unfocused speculation and look for some fortuitous outburst of emerging sparks just like our Bushmen ancestors of our dim and distant past who once had done the same indiscriminate, nonspecific, and haphazard prodding to the old fire. So don't be discouraged for such is the nature of the eternal struggle of humanity against the indistinct and mysterious nature of the cosmos.
Axil, the time for LENR has come now. Right now!
DeleteWe need it now. In fact we needed it a decade ago.
Some time in the next century or two is too late. By then we will have stewed the planet to a fine but non savory broth, in our own exhaust gasses, and it will be so well stewed that it will be very difficult, if not impossible, to reverse the effects in any foreseeable human history.
If anyone on this planet has access to knowledge which can make LENR work then they owe it to the planet and everything on it, which now provides their present comfortable lifestyle and existence, to make it known to all, and to use it, no matter how premature the understanding of it may be.
To hold off for the purpose or reason of preserving more of, or all of the financial benefits for their own gain is deserving of the ultimate disrespect and/or disbelief.
I can't imagine any self professed God fearing person doing such a thing for any reason other than, they don't have what they claim to have.
