LENR NEWS,NOT EARTH-WIDE AS YESTERDAY, BUT INTERESTING

MOTTO

You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf. (Jon Kabat Zinn)

That's kind of problem solving learning- everything OK if it is not about a typhoon or a tsunami. There exist inherently and inexorably insoluble problems.
We have discover, accept and and abandon our insoluble problems, it means they can be solved only in a different form/context, at a higher level of understanding

2) Take care, beryllium can be present in the ash samples of replications!
Warning received from Longview:
http://www.lenr-forum.com/forum/index.php/Thread/1653-Safety-Warning/?postID=4629#post4629

A serious warning, the replicators must read it carefully. Being a chemist-chemical engineer I have had many stories with lots of chemical elements- metaloids and metals, the book THE ELEMENTS by John Emsley is on my desk. ( a nice present from Dieter Britz) Love stories with Carbon (I am an organic industries chemist), Chlorine the single element created by the devil, hydrogen, all the common and many more special  metals, a special love to "hate" story  with Palladium the wonderful catalyst and lazy LENR-ist  etc., etc. It happens that I never met Beryllium. Surely I knew it is dangerous  I will not search the Internet to find out if and were Beryllium entered in some way the LENR story. My own memory says it was in the ICCF-17 presentation by Defkalion:
http://coldfusionnow.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/2012-08-13-ICCF-17__Paper_DGTGx.pdf
We have positive results, presented in this paper, from the analysis of NAE with XRF and isotopic mass-spectrometry-ICPMS methods before and after any such LENR of transmutations in:
• Fe-Co-Ni-Cu-Zn and K-Ca , with ppm changes higher than any instrumental analysis error factor
• Li-Be-B species not present before the LENR, detected only by isotopic distract analysis methods (ICPMS).
These light elements (H to B) are formed by nucleosynthesis, said DGT.

OK, the ash samples resulting from replication experiments have to be manipulated with care, Longview is right!

3) V.A. Shashilov: "Two new sources of nuclear energy"
http://www.trinitas.ru/rus/doc/0016/001d/00162474.htm
High level theoretical paper, e.g. it speaks about the interactions between hadons and neutrinos. I am translating here the final part- of more direct interest:

About the Rossi Generator.

The mechanism proposed by the author is described for how the Rossi reactor works is described in the [3]
The nuclei that react to give release of energy in the Rossi reactor are nickel and lithium. At the temperatures of over 1000C lithium is molten state and it wets the surface of the nickel micro particles. By this a considerable part of the lithium atoms is ionized, that is forms Li7+ ions
in which the nuclei of Li are surrounded by only two electrons.
In [3] there are shown the causes that allow to the nuclei of Li-7+ to get free of its electrons and get into the electron shell of nickel. Further the lithium nucleus captures 4 electrons and gets a negative charge.

Based on the Coulomb attraction between the negatively charged nucleus of 7Li (due to the presence in it of 4 electrons) and the nucleus of nickel this nuclei are merged and an unique nuclear construction appears. Inside this construction, one of the neutrons of the nucleus 7Li is transferred to the nucleus of Ni and the products of reaction are nucleus of 6Li and an isotope of Ni with a mass increased with one unit.

By this the electrons captured 7 Li return to the electron shell carrying with them
the energy re;eased by the nuclear reaction. Thanks to this no hard radiations appear

We remark that recently, in [4] Rossi postulates a mechanism for how his process works that is completely different from ours- namely the interaction of 7Li and Ni nuclei with protons and not interacting between them.

However the mechanism proposed by Rossi has many drawbacks. I will show only one of them. At the interaction of the protons with the 7Li nuclei the Be* nucleus is obtained that desagregates in two alpha particles. Due to this in the reaction products the proportion of 7Li must decrease, after the consumption of the 7:Li nuclei only the isotope 6Li will remain and this was not observed experimentally.

The author's supposition is that the reaction takes place only between the nuclei of 7Li and the nuclei of Ni, thus only the isotopic  composition of these nuclei is changed, the global quantity  remaining unchanged. Thus the Rossi reactor is an application of the mechanism described in this paper, chapter Ii (see please Google Translate)

Conform the mechanism proposed, the protons do not participate in the nuclear reactions and play an important role only in the first stage when the 7Li and Ni atoms come near to each other (when the 7Li ions enter the electron shells of the atoms of nickel) The hypothesis the hydrogen nuclei participate in the nuclear reactions is not
confirmed.

Remark. It cannot be excluded that in the Fleischmann Pons reaction the excess energy
also takes place according to the mechanism here described. In the experiments of 1989 the electrolyte contained 7Li ions which (with a smaller degree of probability) are able to penetrate in the nuclei of palladium according to the described mechanism
at the room temperature. It could have been happened that at the repetition of the experiments, no more Li was added being considered useless and exactly this made the experiments to fail.

  1. Li plus electrons plus Ni is called a molecule. Something special has to happen to make the electrons do something more than form a nice fluffy far spaced (Li to Ni) molecule.

  2. The Li-6 nucleus is enormously delocalized and may interact with protons and deuterons very much more easily than with Li-7

I confess I like how this author thinks!”

Analysis of the experimental evidence from Lagano contradictes this reaction mechanism. A more appropriate Analysis goes as follows...

The complete conversion of a 10 nm diameter nickel particle might provide supporting evidence that protons find their way into the center of these massive nickel particles by quantum teleportation supported by the entanglement of protons in the hydrogen gas that riddle outside the nickel particle and the atoms of nickel inside the particle. Yes, Teleportation...like in star trek. A proton located in the hydrogen gas envelope does not need to find its way through large amounts of nickel by bumping and grinding their way through all that nickel. These protons just appear like magic inside the micro particle.

This conclusion might seem ridiculous on it face but this conclusion is fully supported by the experimental evidence from Lagano.

If the protons or in fact any subatomic particle did physically penetrate the nickel particle, we would expect that the outer layers of the particle would experience more nuclear reactions than the center of the particle. This penetration type of reaction would produce a layered ash profile. The outmost surface of the particle should have some copper and/or zinc content, and the inside should still have some untouched lower Z isotopes of nickel...like Ni58.

But NO, the particle is pure Ni62, completely homogeneous Ni62, utterly pure Ni62. It must be that the protons that make up the gas envelope see no material resistance to the penetration of the nickel. The entangled protons mated with each nickel atom move through the nickel particle via the 5th dimension in which entanglement works directly through the nickel bulk to its entangled nickel mate into the center of the micro particle or to its dedicate nanowire edge with equal probability. This looks like proton teleportation to me.

And even more perplexing, the delicate nickel nanowire surface covering of the miro particle is pure NI62. This delicate surface nano sized feature has suffered no subatomic particle impact damage what so ever. This ash looks the same as the fuel...physically unchanged but isotopically different.

No neutrons were detected so the active subatomic particle supporting the Ni58 to Ni63 transmutation must be protons from the gas outside the particle. These protons change themselves into neutron after they enter the Ni58 nucleus.

Yes, this is impossible to believe, If it weren't for logic and the results of Lagano experiment, what other answer could there be?

Norman D. Cook abd Andrea Rossi are inventing theory that has no experimental foundation from Lagano data. How can you admire such a misrepresentation of reality?

  4. "The hypothesis the hydrogen nuclei participate in the nuclear reactions is not confirmed."

No hydrogen, no reaction, so the hydrogen is definitely playing a role. Further, the lattice has to be saturated with hydrogen. Now, it may, in part, be that in filling the nickel lattice, the hydrogen is preventing the lithium from penetrating the lattice : in any event, experiments done on palladium by the Naval Research Laboratory and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory - admittedly with Deuterium - see :

    http://fr.slideshare.net/lewisglarsen/lattice-energy-llc-us-government-labs-reported-clearcut-neutron-capture-data-from-pf-cells-in-oct-1989-may-13-2015

found that transmutations occurred only at or near the surface of the deuterided metal (in this case, palladium), not in its interior. This is borne out by the need for certain geometries that encourage the formation of NAE regions on crystal surfaces.

This having been said, it is my belief that there have, to date, been four main factors by which energy is being extracted at the nanoscale:

    a. ground state reduction - our understanding of ground state needs to change, so that we have "ground state in non-constrained spacetime regions" vs. "ground states in constrained spacetime (that is, Casimir regions). To achieve ground state reduction, charged crystal lattices, or, rather, faults in those lattices, are required to provide the constraint. One direct consequence of this is the production of hydrinos (and, yes, I do believe they exist)
    b. Brillouin zones - increasing the probabilities of collisions through deep wells, geometrical constraint and quantum tunnelling (including through the Coulomb barrier local to constrained hydrogen atoms)
    c. NAE surface sites - and, in particular, the relevance of the Widom-Larsen theory
    d. increased likelihood of penetration of the Coulomb barrier through electromagnetic, nuclear and geometric constraint (transmutation and fusion are, fundamentally, probability-based - the heating and shaking and such like are there to increase the probability of a collision: it is up to the particles themselves as to whether a union then occurs)

Now, these all have certain environmental constraints in common, the most obvious of which are:

    1. high local electric fields
    2. imposed constraints in how atoms can move and spin, and how close they can come to one another
    3. potential wells - both electromagnetic and nuclear (a hill looks high until you see it from the top of a mountain), the electromagnetic to accelerate the particles and constrain their spin, nuclear to constrain now super-excited "pinball" particles inside a deep well able to overcome or tunnel (due to a much increased probability of such) through the Coulomb barrier
    4. activation energies, above which quasi-particles can form and energy move freely between nuclei

This last point is nicely explained in:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gKzCdmY5B_s&feature=youtu.be&a

So, the scientific community should stop saying "it can't be fusion", and start saying "it can't be D-D, or D-T fusion in a macro-scale, super-pressurized, super-heated but otherwise unconstrained environment". That, no one would argue with.

  5. About "Safety Warning! Beryllium in LENR":

In this post there are many uncertainties on the reality of the alert, and that is perhaps the begining of a strategy to publicly destabilise the research on LENR or at least the big wave of replications by many people. The begining of a war from the hard business against the people and their liberties.

However the known toxicity of Be is not so impressive to scare researchers away from replications. Ash samples have to be manipulated according to safety rules in lab, tha's all.
