These are the targets, determined by the Lugano testers and having the implicit blessing of Andrea Rossi that means- the advanced HotCats, his unique pets having such performances.
These are the standards and guides in research in LENR+
I have stated months ago that certainty will be achieved when we will have a minimum of 8 excellent replications at the level of the standards so that the last traces of uncertainty melt away. 
I do not retract a single sentence of what I wrote here and I am fighting will all my residual powers for my ideas.

GOOD NEWS FROM CHINA AND VERY HOPEFULLY, FROM MFMP

SHORT EDITORIAL

I am very rational and absolutely not superstitious. However my expertise in industry in special in investigating deadly accidents and in performing research- tangent to the impossible- has revealed many time the existence of occult technological phenomena- potential dark, rapacious Black Swans.
In this spirit it seemed to be a kind of curse on the replications of the-more-than -replication-of the Lugano Test. Despite some promising results.
But now the curse is over we have a real replication by a serious institution in China
A new LENR hero called Songsheng Jiang. As Bob Greenyear emphasises is it, the Chinese results are very important also because were obtained with DC- direct current and shows clear HAD- Heat After Death.
It is relevant that just now, we have a very positive (politically at least) paper from India. So the BRIC countries are already fighting on the good size of LENR, you have read here a lot about the Russian contribution, strategic thinking and achievements, and India and China are awakening. Just great Brazil is inactive (?) yet. O. que podemos fazer, dear Danny Rocha?
Just to mention, from the PIGS countries, Portugal and Spain haave not statrted LENR work, Italy is a LENR great power- in many respects the leader; Greece had a short period of great glory and I bet it will come back.
Do not ignore what Parkhomov has shown in his presentation at the recent Mosow Seminar, Giuseppe Levi has  a device and a calorimeter so there are possibilities
and hope too. Scandinavia- is too foggy, I cannot understand what th th Swedes are doing when their work is under attack, Norway has started something but we don't know more. 
The Finnish company ETIAM is still a mystery.
The day's event is the test by MFMP- it seems they get excess heat- we will know it with total certainty in a few hours.
What else could I say now than: thanks, Songsheng Jian? And, anticipating, thank you, MFMP!

MFMP- HEAT AND CONQUER! A WEIRD BUT DESIRABLE HISTORICAL PARALLEL

NOTE

It's May 29; exactly 562 years ago it was it was an "astral hour" destiny changing of History: the Fall of Constantinople. Very bad for Christianity, but it could not happen without divine approval.
MFMP's experiment of today could also mark an astral hour, this time very positive for the history of LENR- the fall of unsuccessful, unfinished replication of the Parkhomov achievement. Let's hope- we still have to wait many hours- the temperature of the active reactor is now only at 500C, far from the hopeful zone.

It is impossible to accept that the forces of regress are so much more powerful than the forces of progress. Stagnation is just a concept having not much to do with reality.
We have developed so many  effective methods of mass suicide- the Old Continent is the leader- It does it with style and elegance and with a perfect bureaucracy.  

Old rotten problems try to kill new solutions.
Usually hope dies the last, therefore regressive try to kill hope with priority.

2- the E-Cat is in a period of long term testing. Our Team is doing all that is possible to provide our utmost R&D. This work consumes 24 hours per day of our Team. I cannot give information of the time scheduling until the Customer of IH allows.
3- I do not know what is in the future, I just know that now I must focus on this test and meet the requirements of the test. This is the most important thing for the future.
4- there is appropriate and controlled testing and evaluation happening on an ongoing or as needed basis. We must also ensure we have an accurate data and all other adequate protections, like IP. This was my blog associates Prayer for Today. It is a problem of elementary self-respect and intellectual-ethical correctness to NOT judge when you have no sufficient data or you are not able to understand something. Omniscience is only for know-it-all kibitzes  who enjoy domination, radicalism, fast death sentences, bitter discontent in the frame of a dim distopic vision. Zero empathy for the few genuine doers- "errare diabolicum est." The worst species- killers as Yugo or Wright are relatively silent or silenced (lack of funding, the Devil has made some bad investments and cannot afford any act of sadistic generosity now). But those who still think that PdD is not only the essence but also the future of LENR are watching and hitting throwing conceptual dark matter on the light of Very Hot LENR systems  

I have to add an other "prayer" to the first:
O, professional honesty, help me to oppose without fear what I understand and do not accept because it is useless, hopeless and harmful!

Removing obstacles from the way to progress will help he LENR community to accelerate solving of the problems, building more technologies.

An image says more than 1000 words (I doubt it!) but less then two numbers e.g. COP yesterday, COP from the start. I try to be functional still in February 2016 (Judith and I are celebrating 50 years of marriage then and we will receive a reward feo the Mayor of Cluj) - so I have some chances to know if the test was positive and negative and what's with the secret COP. The client of Industrial Heat would suffer heavy losses if thi COP becomes known before time..

Many well distincted sounds, each of them being important to us. I cannot disclose further. Like a physician with the human body, multiple information is given by a stethoscope, not just one.
Depending on the position I put the stethoscope, I can compose a spectrum of information that T probes, P probes, Flowmeters cannot give. I learnt this about 10 years ago, when I was working in the oil refinery of ENI of Sannazzaro Dei Burgundi ( Italy) on a Diesel generator (GENSET). Their chief mechanic, a very experienced one, teached to me to use the stethoscope to listen all the internal sounds of the engine, associating a specific information to any sound. I discovered this way problems otherwise hidden; so I am doing now with Her.

There might be something to this. Rossi placed ridges on the surface of the Hot cat. This might have been an attempt to keep the Hot cat from overheating through increased convective cooling. Rossi replication attemps do not do this. Rossi would not have put these ridges on the surface of his reactor for no good reason, The same increased cooling effect might be had by cooling the reactor with a stream of air...fan cooling???

Using a variable speed fan could allow the experimenter to adjust the degree of reactor cooling at will.

If this concept is valid, start a Hot cat test with a large amount of fan cooling. Then the reaction might not start at 1200C. reduce the cooling in stages until the reaction starts or the reactor melts down.

There is a great deal of consideration directed toward the ridges in the Lugano report. From the Lugano test report...

"The reactor investigated on this occasion is outwardly quite different from the ones used in the tests held in the past years. Its external appearance is that of an alumina cylinder, 2 cm in diameter and 20 cm in length, ending on both sides with two cylindrical alumina blocks (4 cm in diameter, 4 cm in length), non-detachable

from the body of the reactor, which henceforth will be referred to as “caps”. An image of the reactor is given in Figure1. Whereas the surface of the caps is smooth, the outer surface of the body of the E-Cat is molded in triangular ridges, 2.3 mm high and 3.2 mm wide at the base, covering the entire surface and designed to improve convective thermal exchange (cylinder diameter is calculated from the bases of the ridges). In this

way, the current model of E-Cat is capable of attaining higher temperatures than the earlier models, avoiding internal melting, a previously fairly frequent occurrence [1]."

HOW TO EVALUATE THE PSYCHOLOGY OF REPLICATORS?

This morning my PC, acquired on Jan 8, 2011 became unbearably noisy and in the afternoon my son-in-law had to change the feeding unit and to rebuild it- a great success. Just I am in delay, could not evaluate the last too Parkhomov replications
but I do not think I have "lost" some news or info.
During my PC-less hours  I decided to study the basic psychology of replication and of the good replicators.
It happens I have a huge collection of documents about Positive Psychology. I don't believe much about of what they are saying but I enjoy some times reading them.
It will be a long siege of the Hot Cats basics and PsyPos can be useful.

"Reactor is in bad condition now.

It seems that it produced extremely high temperature. Maybe due to local overheating?

But maybe there was excess heat. I suspect that this temperature was far beyond 1400°C, thus heater failure must happen.

For me it seems that the fuel container or Nickel was so hot that it melted ceramic tube from inside and then damaged whole reactor.

So this "bubble" on the bottom may be Nickel or melted kanthal or alumina sealing.

It was so hot that even stainless steel cover was partially melted.

Alumina sealing is able to stand 1500°C, while ceramic tubes 1800°C."

High temperature heater wire will not solve the control and associated meltdown problem. The limiting factor is the nickel powder. That powder will fail in the neighborhood of 1450C and is the immutable weak link in the design of the Hot cat reactor.

I suggest that the pulsed arc solution to the control problem as developed by Defkalion should be an option that the builders of the LENR reactor should consider in building a controllable and successful reactor.

Its basic and inevitable principle is: To start, remove obstacles first- and this includes inner or grafted-on obstacles, vulnerabilities.
There is a plethora of positive saying about the hidden virtues of vulnerabilities- actually these are simply lies. A vulnerability is a vulnerability- an opportunity of being hurt, suffer losses, fail.
This morning I have seen that Me356's fine and well executed test has failed - again the resistance wire has burn some 30 C before the magic temperature. Me356 had no luck- my deep sympathy for him.
As the Lugano test shows as and as some electro-engineers say it, there are available wires that can work well in the necessary hellish circumstances for weeks without burning. If this is true- the replicators have to get them and use them.
Wireless heat as I said many times, would be a radical solution.
 You can also learn a lot on the Facebook page of MFMP- these brave guys are learning, doing, and understanding  systematically.
From what they say e.g. about the role of pressure (and free space in the reactor) and what we get to know on other ways, I think that we can paraphrase Einstein: "The Hot Cat is subtle, but malicious is it not". And if you remove its weaknesses- it can be tamed and ruled. Kilns or molten metal baths?

This was inspired by my Australian good friend  Doug Marker who has written comments- much too nice doing harm to my deep modesty - to my editorial of yesterday. He spoke well i.a. about my trans-culturalism and suddenly I realized that I am very ignorant regarding Australia's culture before the Europeans came, prior to revealing the swans' blackness- and even today.
The proverb is the standard one for illustrating the wisdom of the Old Aussies. And it goes well with my rather bad mood these days...
I am not an Australian and historically speaking, it is entirely my fault.
In 1936 some local extremists have beaten my mother on the street, so my older brother Emmanuel has died 6 hours after his birth. My parents have decided to emigrate in Australia and were in full preparation when I have announced them that I will come back. So they had to stay. Geography is destiny but the reverse is not true. (This has no sense at all but sounds fine)
Being born in Australia would have changed my options, as zoologist or opera singer (bass-baritone) my contribution to saving the world would have been definitely less significant- no modes of thinking discovered, no principle of the chief engineer stated, no revolutionary problem solving rules created but the worse of all- no life changing meeting with Cold Fusion/LENR- the poor thing have had to escape the palladium trap
and grow up alone, without knowing that it MUST metamorphose in LENR+ otherwise everything is in vain.
But I am here- in Cluj Romania and totally dedicated to LENR- as the energy source of the future.
My message to the Australian aborigines  -and to everybody else is: nothing could make me to lose my dream- I will take it with me and bring it back to my next life too. This is a promise. LENR is for you too!

How, which extent knowledge is power in a domain with such serious birth problems as LENR is an open question.
No problem with Power, power is quite tautologically the ability to obtain intense power, intense, clean, cheap very long term.
Knowledge can be disputed- which knowledge is really power? "We" know a lot of 
the PdD electrochemical cell - a great library of knowledge. Question: of wht real use is this huge knowledge material for solving the problem of central interest just now- the Hot Cat's modus operandI? But perhaps we went to far, and we have to ask of what help is this knowledge to solve the problems (intensification, reproducibility, ephemerity)  of the Pd D cell itself?
Difficult problems  (stealing from Piet Hein) show their power by hitting back.
We need syntheses of knowledge- wisdom.

DEFINING WHAT REALLY IS BASICS OF COLD FUSION-NOT

Quote over-used, but no better one was invented; definition is a perfidious logical manoeuvre, surgery,  and sometimes even sadistic mutilation of a concept.

On E-Cat World,  Andrea Calaon, answering to Axil speaks about Basics of Cold Fusion- see Daily News. I would not dispute what he says, however I am very contrariated about what he says not. Dare-to-say this is the most important  part if this really wants to be about the basics.
Many new LENR players have appeared  after 2011. I remember Andrea Calaon as  a young creative theorist who surfaced at my favorite Italian site, 22 Passi but this is not relevant now.
I really enjoy the logic in the ordeal of Hyds and I know that after less then 100 equivalents of the Lugano experiment fully analysed, we will know in which extent the Hyd story is real. I appreciate that the author understands the diversity of the phenomena
Why is this not about the BASICS of the cold fusion field?

of earthy temperatures, there are some similarities between all but the differences are more relevant; from the cool to boiling F& P electrochemical cell to Piantelli's Ni nano-structures based process to warm and hotter cats, to Defkalion's plasma, to core of Terra
LENRs and LENR+s.Some people believe in the genius and the unity of Nature (Ed Storms is a great example in LENR), other people prefer to believe in the creativity and diversity of Nature (me, for example, and Reality). 
Calaon, a bright nuclear physicist is in the first camp as long he speaks about the basics and not specifically about the case of Hot Cat- best known by the Lugano experiment.

As almost everybody in the history oF CF, Calaon thinks to seem that Cold Fusion/LENR is first of all mainly, preponderently NUCLEAR and therefore alll we have to do is to defeat, by force or by smart tricks- the Coulomb Barrier- considered the greatest obstacle to successful Cold Fusion/LENR. However LENRs are multi-step, multi-stage, poly-sequential; each sequence is characterized by its own locus, nature and mechanism. It is essential to distinguish between the
- pre-nuclear, 
- nuclear, and
- post nuclear, stages
but these can differ much for the sorts of LENR. I wonder of how much have in common for example the cool wetness of the Fleischmann Pons Cell with the thermal Inferno of the Hot Cat, the noblesse of hydrogen thirsty palladium and the unsophistication of nickel; however some visionaries say almost exactly the same things happen in both.
The pre-nuclear stages including a mechanism for continuous, intense, renewable generation of nuclearly active sites- and just here we cannot ignore nanoplasmonics and magnetic phenomena- is genuine trigger- now or never phase of the processes
It is an complex edifice of diverse phenomena that, combined create powerful very cheap energy with no damaging radiations,
Cold Fusion is a combination of nuclear and non-nuclear phenomena.

LENRs do not need a passive theory but an active one, they have to be used as a combination of science and technology if you want to put them to work. Engineering is the key of success, the genuine NAE- nuclear active environment is actually the entire reactor, generator, reaction vessel that creates the circumstances for the necessary sequences of phenomena taking place  on a continuous long term basis. 

Examples, bad or good are contagious, Calaon has coined Hyd, I create THEORRECIPEs as describing active, creative, actionable fertile hybrids of science and technology.
Cold Fusion- in its LENR+ forms, is a good actionable mixture of science and technology. 

SO, it can be predicted
a) no valid usable general theory for the LENR field will ever appear;
b) no single theory for any kind of LENR is possible, composed theories necessary
c) multi-theories for LENR, theorrecipes for LENR+

Here on this blog it was many times stated by my friends that LENR+, the technologically promising  variants include nanoplasmonics. In this spirit please see what comments Axil about the achievements of Shafeev:

Communication and collaborations are pillars of my professional life; I have asked first two good Russian friends to facilitate our contact with Shafeev. I have no complexes, however a blog is not an institution and it is now my unique affiliation.
Shafeev is professor at the Wave Research Center of A.M. Prokhorov General Physics Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences.However I know- it is ana axiom- reallly great scientists are nice  & friendly.
Reality has combined LENR and Nanoplasmonics, let's do the same- and we need help.
NOTE- as predicted, Shafeev has answered immediately and now I am studying his papers kindly sent by him. S A. Koestler would say, we have to build a creative bisociation between his sort of powerful nanoplasmonics and LENR's overly complex one.

You cannot turn a 20 kW E-Cat into an E-Cat with higher power. But you can make a 1 GW plant with modules of 250 kW each, theoretically.

Yes, the Customer is measuring independently the energy that arrives to his plant, both with gauges and ( more important) with the operation of his manufacturing system, which needs our energy to work.
The measurements give similar results, within the margin of error of the instrumentation, but, as I said, what counts more than all is the FACT that the energy we supply him makes his plant work as expected. Calorimetic measurements now are coupled with manufacturing efficiency measurements, which put in evidence the very result that really counts: is our Customer making money with our plant or not ? This is the most important issue. If the Customer does not make money with our plant, he will not get solace if we will present him good calorimetric results, however obtained…
Data regarding the COP will be given after the completion of the tests and the final results can be either positive or negative.

It is found that the activity of 234Th, in contrast to unirradiated solution, continues to increase for 50 to 60 days after laser irradiation and, having reached a stationary level, remains at it for a long time (about 1 yr). The activity dynamics is modeled theoretically on the assumption that a fraction of 238U in the irradiated solution is under peculiar conditions, so that its half-life is much shorter than that of spontaneous α decay of this nuclide under normal conditions. Application of copper vapour lasers for controlling activity of uranium isotopes

Beryllium nanoparticles are generated upon ablation of a beryllium target in water by a copper vapour laser. The average size of single crystalline nanoparticles is 12 nm. Ablation of a beryllium target in aqueous solutions of uranyl chloride leads to a significant (up to 50%) decrease in the gamma activity of radionuclides of the uranium-238 and uranium-235 series. Data on the recovery of the gamma activity of these nuclides to new steady-state values after laser irradiation are obtained. The possibility of application of copper vapour lasers for radioactive waste deactivation is discussed. Abstract.  Experimental data are presented on the laser-induced beta decay of caesium-137. We demonstrate that the exposure of a gold target to a copper vapour laser beam (wavelengths of 510.6 and 578.2 nm, pulse duration of 15 ns) for 2 h in an aqueous solution of a caesium-137 salt reduces the caesium-137 activity by 70%, as assessed from the gamma activity of the daughter nucleus 137mBa, and discuss potential applications of laser-induced caesium-137 decay in radioactive waste disposal.
