European Patent owned by Russian scientist... and news



1) European Cold Fusion Patent belongs to a Russian scientist.

This was published yesterday evening on the http://www.lenr.seplm.ru/ Cold Nuclear Transmutations and Globular Lightning Russian page, above the newly made links to Doktor Bob's blog and to Ego Out.

I have started my career in CF journalism with the patents page of Fusion Facts (Hal Fox's() however saying that my attraction to non-functional Cold Fusion LENR patents is low today, is a hyperbolic euphemism. A patent is good if it works effectively or when it is wonderfully well and wisely written as Piantelli's highly professional patents from which you can learn more than from tens of scientific papers.

This patent...the presentation is written by the patent agent and not by the inventor, V.A. Kirkinskii, well known in our circles e..g for his theory paper: http://newenergytimes.com/v2/sr/Theories/Kirkinshii-Novikov-66Models-Of-Cold-Fusion.pdf 

He has 9  papers, 5 downloadable in LENR-CANR. Great theorist

The presentation starts with
"Nowadays it is much promoted the LENR technology in which it is used nickel and hydrogen. However, it also exists an other technology that uses deuterium and palladium. And here enters the scene Bill Gates! Around a month ago, Bill Gates with his unlimited financial possibilities , communicated that his company, Terra Power will sponsorize the technology that it based on the use of deuterium and palladium,"  
My comment is that nothing sure is known about Bill Gates financial support, how many $ will he allocate for PdD technology. If somebody has exact data, please say. I am firmly convinced that capitalism is the way, is en ensemble both effective and efficient in solving problems including that of  technological progress, I know that capitalism made possible the Information Revolution and will make Energy revolution a reality, I am aware that it is a fatal error to be old just now when so many wonderful things wll happen- for technology; however I also know that even unlimited finance  has limited solving power. I have told openly, more times that wet PdD technology is like the hero of a known nursery rhyme:
"All Bill Gates' billions and all the dreams of our men
Couldn't put Humpty together again."

A unique hope for Kirkinskii comes from the fact that his system in the patent is dry.

The paper is not about technology, not about progress toward heat generation.

The abstract of this invention:
The invention relates to the power production using deuterium nuclear interaction in the crystalline structures of deuterides of palladium and other metals activated during phase transitions. The inventive device comprises a reactor containing a working substance, a system for measuring and controlling a gas pressure, a system for heating and temperature control, a system for transferring and using the released
heat. The reactor (1) containing the working substance (13) and capable to undergo isostructural phase transformations accompanied by the modification of the deuterium content is embodied in the form of coaxially disposed pipes (2 and 3) provided with valves (4 and 5) which seal the volume there between. Heaters (14 and 15) are arranged at the end of said pipes in such a way that it is possible to produ ce a directionally variable temperature gradient along the longitudinal axis of the reactor. The heat exchanger of a primary circuit (22) is embodied in the form of coaxial pipes (23 and 24) between which a heat carrier (29) passes, and butted against the reactor on the side radially opposite to the position of the heaters.
Various modifications of the inventive device enabling to carry out the simultaneous desorption and sorption of deuterium in the working substance on the opposite sides of the reactor, efficiently transfer and use the released excess heat, increase the reliability of the operation and to provide the conditions for the automation thereof are also disclosed.

A very rich, interesting program presenting the process that gave us the certainty of existence of cold fusion-excess heat:

Only the technology purists could nit-pick saying the last 10 words are not as true and valuable as the rest.

 2) Toward a technological future of LENR

 How a technology develops:

Definitely, a smart, well written paper, with many parts valid for LENR. What it needs is a second part much more LENR-specific- with possible parallels between the new energy source
and the recent great industrial success stories
The paper distinguishes 6 stages of development of an industry/technology:

 First stage:Discovery/Concept;
Second stage: Working Prototype
Third stage: Early Commercialization
Fourth stage: Enthusiasts
Fifth stage: Widespread Adoption/Disruption
Sixth Stage: Acceptance 
It is not clear in which stage actually LENR is, but in few months we will know it better.
I quote from this paper, this time just for the "science-first! purists:
" Note: people can build technologies without understanding the theory or science behind them. People were building firearms, canons and explosives centuries before anybody understood either the chemistry or physics involved in those devices." 

 However, they must understand principles and safety.

3) An initiative. Its time will come.

I think it is a good idea, however perhaps premature,;rather long times can be necessary to make the changes, as isotopic shifts (these are so captivating)  easily measurable. At Lugano the time was 32 days!
Parkhomov will come with his analysis, as good as any other high quality analysis (see what he has shown us about nickel particle size analysis). It would be useful to get confirmations  from reputed western laboratories.

A delight for masochists; however I think that it is rational tp patent only what really works. OK, if you are very rich you can collect vanity patents.

5) ORGANIZING A + LENR+ BABEL COLLECTION

Dear Readers from everywhere,
I need your help. I intend to go to the real leaders of my country, Romania, sons and daughters of my colleagues of generation and tell them:

 "You are retarded and under-informed again! The LENR revolution is coming, smart people are preparing - you have no idea. It is the time for change and awakening!"

 And I must demonstrate them that the world is preparing for LENR.
I need for this an impressive collection, at least 50 papers fulfilling the following requirements:
a) + LENR- that is clearly supporting and promoting LENR:
b) LENR+ that is about enhanced LENR, post-Lugano events
c) in as many as possible languages present on Google Transkate
d) If possible- decent quality sources and journalism.

 Obviously I search the Web as deeply as possible, but there are limitations-
an example is a paper in Nordisk Energi, I am not able to get access to it.

We already know these events implying warm and hot cats, but for many Polish readers they can be new- and promising. It enters the +LENR+ collection. 

6) A warning from AXIL

 It is a bit subtle, but very important.

So sorry, please excuse me but I have developed an opinion. These heater power failures are caused by the LENR reaction and if not immediately countered, these power drops will delay the onset of the LENR reaction. A 5 seconds response time to counter is far to long a time delay to increase the current flow to the heater. I don't believe that MFMP  counters this heater behavior at all since they have no constant power circuit mechanism in their heater power supply. Like MFMP, the Russian experimenter sees temperature variations of up to 100C. This is very primitive an unsophisticated experimentally.   A nanosecond might be enough of a response time lag to counter the heat circuit current drop. This unusual superconductor onset behavior is causing long startup times for the onset of the LENR reaction. I hope that Brian Ahern will develop constant power circuitry to add elegance to his experiment  to greatly increase the response time for the onset of the LENR reaction and thereby increasing experiment turnaround times.

LENR+ PROGRESS, NEW PLAYER ANNOUNCED



Dear Readers,

A bit easier first because I am one of those now focused impatiently on the idea: "How to make
LENR to prevail"- in real life conditions, no wishful thinking, no idealistic principles- and it seems now more and more possible.

I (and the Ego Out blog) got two compliments:

Motivational messages

 A blogger colleague whose posts I am admiring from long time calls me an "original thinker"' the truth is that I try indeed to think from time to time. In the Handbook of the Well Tempered Sadistic Critic you get instructed: "tell him his writing are both original and good" and when you remark he is happy, add "just the original part is not good and the good parts are not original" and watch how his Ego is deflated!
However a lot of Septoes (not mine) are cited at this fine site e.g.  
Do it now; not soon, not tomorrow.
Turn an ugly idea into elegant reality.
Solution applied too late is no solution.
Learners and leaders have a lot in common.
Remember, great questions always beat good answers.

I resonate with these especially well, read the rest and visit the site, it is worth!

At the http://ecatnews.com/ site, Jami likes me much. Recently he has asked that I should be instutionalized. Isn't this when you re nominated rector of an University? Now, very nicely he calls me "intellectual" a iota more precisely "intellectual pollutter" He writes:
Meanwhile Peter Gluck focuses on the few problems that still remain now that cold fusion is proven and the new age of free energy is fast approaching: “Study of the environmental problems associated with the CF phenomenon.” Not sure whether it’ll include intellectual pollution. If it does, Peter could contribute a great deal.
I know why he is angry with me. Can he deny that in June 1978, when we met in Helsinki near the sea-side, he was drunk and has asked from me a FinnMark for drink, I ignored his request and insulted him badly in Romanian and in Hungarian and have pushed him hard in the face? He cannot forget it but he was awfully drunk like a swine. I thought he is dangerous but actually he has no IQ at all.. I have documents for this Jami, so shut up and stay in your den.

 3) My forum colleague Jones Beene has creative leadership ideas for the replication of the Hot Cat:

7)      Promises a pain free solution to climate change

He adds that there are some dangers:

But somebody must lose in this picture. The big question mark: can the upcoming tidal wave be stopped by OPEC/Big Oil … or is it too late for them?

Thank you, Jones these ideas have to be discussed, refined and implemented, and I think, progress will be unstoppable. 

4) CEES of Rob Duncan as seen by the Texas University
It is presented in this document:

Center for Emerging Energy Sciences (CEES), Office of the Vice President for
Research; establish a center which will initially bridge physics and chemistry in
the scientific exploration for the origin of the Anomalous Heat Effect (AHE). Once
the origin of the AHE is established, this center's effort will shift toward energy
engineering, with engagement with mechanical and electrical engineering. This highly
focused effort will involve close collaborations with ENEA (Ente Nazionale per
l'Energia Atomica), the National Energy and Environment Laboratory of Italy,
and with a contract to a scientist who will soon retire from Stanford Research


International (SRI) in Palo Alto, CA.

At first sight it seems to be LENR classic but surely Prof Duncan will say about strategy in due time.

According to the representation of my Model of Erzion Catalysis (MEC) in the case of Rossi's Hot Cat, the fuel is not only nickel but also lithium aluminum tetrahydride and even a part of the ceramic tube that constitutes the Cell. The specific output power is increased both due to the greater quantity of fuel effectively consumed and to a much more intense, compact process of CNT- the pioneer of which is Piantelli. Add to this that according to MEC the use of LiAlH4 increases energy density 100 times more than deuterium and its use is Rossi's merit- the system functioning consistently as a whole.  
It is clear, despite being a theorist, Bazhutov is a realist and knows that worldwide and for each country, the only realist scenario is commercial application first and acceptance after-can happen.No scientific paper or idea can bring radical changes.changes. The Russian CNT/LENE strategy  systematically avoid wishful thinking.

 My second question re the Rossi Effect vs the Fleischmann Pons Effecr is actually unanswerable today but Bazhutov knows well that the great difference is based  on cumulative and multiplicative effects, in the same time. The details will come

 2) Pragmatic Parkhomov 

 It is still a Parkhomov moment,  the world is waiting his new results  to be announced on 27 and 29 January. He helps MFMP and actually has started
a replication epidemics of the tricky, extremist in the best sense, decisive Hot Cat process. I was worried because he is working in a University laboratory, but he has explained me that his laboratory i well organized  and independent from the research bureaucracy. This means he is wise and pragmatic- as we could seen of his mode of action. Therefore I hope this summer he will be able to perform the much desired 64 days continuous Hot Cat experiment, 64 (the double of 32) is beneficial for both LENR and chess. After that one, isotopic shift will become mainstream.

 Dima Redko:
The results of the analysis made upon the ashes are what they are. I did not the sampling and I did not the analysis, so all I can do is take notice of the results and study them under any thinkable point of view. I can confirm or disconfirm nothing. What I can say is that we are working very well on the reconciliation of all the consolidated data and the publication of the mechanism will be made at the conditions I have explained in former comments.

A CHARISMATIC SEMINAR ON HYDRINO AND LENR?

I admire billionaires because they succeeded and not for what they are (this has absolutely no sense but it is OK for me. From Elon Musk we could indeed learn that we HAVE to get to LENR' First Principles

 New LENR seminar in Moscow.

 There exist some Extremistan type (see N.N. Taleb's Black Swan) differences of people- you can observe these at meetings and at scientific congresses quite well. Some people must enter three times in a rroom till it are observed once. Other people, even if they sit silent in a corner attract the general attention, radiate power and influence and everybody instantly knows they are Very Important Persons. They have charisma,
a mystery!
I remember that at the Minsk 1994 meeting organized by my dear friend Hal Fox, I have met three such special people:
- Amory Lovins from USA - it is so bad he is not in the pro-LENR camp!
-Hideo Kozima from Japan who later visited us and we are life-time friends,
- Nikolai Samsonenko- a bright physicist from Moscow,  high caliber scientist

Now it is a very pleasant surprise to see that Nikolai is the organizer and and one of the speakers at a new LENR seminar for January 29 this year
for Cold fusion and globular lightnings at the People's Friendship Russian University  (more data here 

 There will be two presentations:
N.V. Samsonenko: "The Hydrino- a short presentation"
V.G. Parkhomov: " Refining the data for the analog of Rossi' high temperature device"

For the first, I am really curious to know what has concluded (or not) the author regarding the viability and future of Randy Mills's technology in development- I reckon that I am undecided but hopeful.

Parkhomov's new presentation, 2 days after the former one at VNIIAES is very important. I hope Alexander Parkhomov will get all the necessary support from the local authorities and from our community. Starting with the simplest question- how can he organize a continuous long time  experiment a la Lugano- he works at a university not at a research  institute. and, for example isotopic shifts, nucleosynthesis whatever happen, become measurable so ...incrementally!

The Russian LENR program by Alexander Prosvirnov

It is a long paper based on much work, strategic thinking and a good bibliography; it is quite Google-translatable- but perhaps I will translate it. It speaks aabout LENR - in Russian YaRNE- "yadernyie reaktsii nizkoi energhii" and i see in this a sign of  a desire to a closer cooperation with the international LENR community- as much this is a real entity.
The main points of the research program are those...natural and logical:

1. Fundamental studies of the phenomenon of cold fusion. 
2. Development of the experimental and technological base for working on the CF problem.  
3. Study of the environmental problems associated with the CF phenomenon. 
4. Evaluation of the possibility of commercial use of the results of work on CF. 
5. Patent and information support. Creating a database of information. 
6. Conducting R & D to create power plants, prototypes using the technology based on CF.  

The starting point of viable LENR technologies- the Piantelli-Focardi papers and the long term autonomous function of a Piantelli cell recognized and all the recent events from the field as  Lugano test, Nichenergy 's alliance with LENR Cities known, LENR-CANR is mentioned.  
 The devil is in details - and the angel(s) in the principles and we don't know these.
It seems a program dominated by the nuclear physicists, the application of the scientific method. It is not obvious if the strategists make the necessaru distinction 
between LENR and LENR+' why and how, in the hot cells the intensity of the energy
release is 4 orders of magnitude greater than in the wet Pd D cells. Anyway.. perhaps it is possible to discuss with the author.

As you know, I have also asked for a global LENR technology- but I cannot tell whom I have asked, whom I can ask...our community is everything but not united and what's worse not organized. Perhaps at ICCF-19?

It happened that the very first paper about LENR that i have read this morning
was written by an author with a very resonant name:

It is a good presentation, friendly with focus on the independent test. I realized that

I have discovered an other anticipatory replication of the Rossi NiH based process, Yaroslav Starukhin says he started promoting such processes already from 2007 and had a working prototype in 2012- here is a presentation of a prototype- in the Laboratory for Alternative Technical Developments see the video:

To stop replications is impossible, but from replication to commercialization it is a long way.

 thinking about the essence of LENR:
"LENR is topological in nature. The size and shape of its components are as important as the kinds of material that supports it. The greater the conformance to LENR's ideal topological configuration, the greater will be LENR's productivity.Nickel is the best metal to use for the Ni/H reactor because it is an almost perfect reflector of mid-infrared light. Some other metals are almost as good: titanium and zirconium. This ability to minimize dispersion of reflected infrared light is just what the Ni/H reactor needs to form Surface Plasmon Polaritons(SPP) at high efficiency.As the temperature of nickel rises above its Curie temperature, Nickel's global magnetic coherence breaks down and it becomes para-magnetic. What then forms on the surface of nickel are localized magnetic vortexes on the micro and nano-scale. This spin vortex nature of the nickel surface also aids in the production efficiency of SPPs.Since SPP's are spinning vortexes of an entangled light/matter waveform, these vortexes of spin on the surface of nickel aids in SPP formation. But nickel alone provides just a start to the strength of a good Ni/H LENR reaction. Like in the Ken Shoulder 's EVOs described above, nano-particles are were all the power comes from. This is why Rossi has stated that without his “secret sauce” the E-Cat is a poor performer. In the Hot Cat, for example, Lithium and Hydrogen produce nano-particles that carry the bulk of the strength of the LENR reaction. As in spark induced LENR and Hot-Cat meltdown, nano-particles that condense out of cooling plasma will carry the main portion of the SPP formation and associated power production.In closing, I predict that someone in the future will build an LENR metal vapor reactor that has a sustained operating temperature of 3000C ( a Hot-cat running in sustained meltdown mode). The challenge will be in controlling it. Let us be granted a life long enough to see such wonders occur".
