I am happy to report that my appeal to bridge building in the LENR community has received a very positive, constructive response.  Angelo Ovidi from Kresenn, one of the leaders of LENR-Cities, writes: 

I completely agree with you that the worst enemy of LENR is research fragmentation and, personally, I always worked to remove obstacles that for some reason seem dividing scientists in LENR community.  Also I always underlined the overlapping of LENR research with many other fields of physics and chemistry considered  not controversial. I think that we should all working for the common goal to unveil the full picture of this new field of research, involving also scientists outside this 'world' and make such researches accessible also to people opposing to them. The first allied of rejection is the fear of the unknown. 
I will forward your request to the scientists in our team for a comment.
Two flawed classes of theories are drowned in molten nickel?

Thank you, dear Angelo- I hope there will be possible a dialog with our open-minded
non-prejudiced colleagues mainly  those who still are in search of the truth, not those convinced they have found it.
I must repeat it- the breakthrough ( it breaks through the old logic and certainty in any case) revelation of Andrea Rossi of yesterday- there can be Hottest E-cats  (the name appeared at the Italian Don Quixote Forum) working at temperatures higher than the melting temperature of nickel- can trigger a total collapse on the market of LENR theories. If LENR can happen with molten metal - then both LENR in lattice  and LENR in nanocracks with hydrotons doing the nuclear miracle- are not valid.
However the issue can be more complex, Francesco Piantelli has shown that all
transition metals work (in his kind of LENR) if this is valid here too- it is suspected that iron is present in the mixture- melting point 1538 C, But there are too many unknown unknowns in this Hottest E-Cat story. We have to wait and to cooperate for 
creating other LENR front-line research units.


This Italian blog has coined the name: HOTTEST CAT for the device working beyond the melting temperature of Nickel:

Yes, if the results will be positive we will start a strong producion. We are already organizing it. Obviously we need solid and sure results from the tests on course on the 1 MW plant. I sympathize with all the people that is waiting for the E-Cat for sale, but I’m sure they are smart and understand that we can put for sale this product massively at two conditions:
1- we must be 100% sure of the sucess
2- we must be able to propose the E-Cat at a price that will make reverse engineering from our competitors useless. I am not decoubertinian and I am not oriented to give graciously to my competitors our technology for free.
When we will be ready, we will attack massively. A premature attack could be devastating for Leonardo Corporation and its Licensees in all the world and for the present and future investors, necessary to generate a real worldwide expansion. The pressure we are getting to act prematurely comes mainly from our competitors, sometime disguised as “friends”.

5 Business Principles That Never Go Out of Style

More than 5 principles are given and all can be well used in organizing LENR Research


  1. about nickel melting, is it possible than an alloy including nickel melt at higher temperature than the pure nickel ?

    what about the nanoparticles? it probably mel at lower temp?

    what about oxydes? it mel at much higher temp than the metal...

    what about the hydride? it melts at higher or lower temp?

      Surely there are many possibilities but why should be Ni alloys or oxides there? Hydruides have low melting poit before decomposiung, nano-particles melt much lower than bulk metal. But why should we speculate?

  2. The electron(s) associated with the H- cannot enter the nucleus unless their energy is greater that 20 MeV due to the uncertainty principle.

    An electron in a H- orbital cannot be that energetic since it would shed that energy through the production of an x-ray photon as the H- seeks a state of minimum energy. Such an energetic electron is relativistic and free. Ergo, the H- theory is wrong.

    1. The negative hydrogen ion (H-) is the theory proposed by Piantelli attempting to show how a H- (neutron proxy) can penetrate the coulomb barrier as a cause for the LENR reaction.

  3. Rossi never stated that when operating above 1450 degrees C his nickel is melted . He only stated it is possible to operate above 1450 C. If Nickel is heated under higher pressure than 1 Atm. it's melting temperature is higher than 1450 C. Ergo, when hydrogen pressure is high enough 1500 C would well be applied while having Nickel still solid.

    1. Much too high pressure would be necessary. Boiling point can be modified with pressure, melting point not. Think about water .

  4. The Hot cat is the reactor type that this over temperature process applies to. It does not apply to the "Mouse" unit because the mouse is maintained at low power with a COP just above 1. The "Cat" must be the reactor component that produces the LENR reaction in the vapor stage. We know that the Rossi reactor can function at temperatures of over 2000C to 3000 when it is in meltdown condition. Rossi has said that the Cat will meltdown if the "Mouse" drives it too hard. Industrial Heat might have found a way to get the "Cat" into the vapor stage where nano particles carry the reaction forward while keeping the "Mouse" just below meltdown temperatures. . For the Hot cat, those nano particles are lithium. IH has found a way to carry the LENR reaction in the "Cat" just by using the lithium nano particles that condense out of the plasma produced at high temperatures beyond 1450C.

    But once this over temperature state is achieved in the "Cat", can the temperature of the "Cat" drop under 1450C, and then be reactivated by the "Mouse" to regain that high temperature level again? Or are we just dealing with a sustained meltdown condition of the "Cat". that can last for some extended period beyond 10 seconds?

    Rossi has assured us that even in the overheated condition that his reactor is still safe. But we know that meltdowns are not safe. Something is different in control between a meltdown condition but still provides meltdown like performance in the new design.

    Let us consider the question of intrinsic safely.

    If the "mouse" controls the E-Cat, and if the mouse is still subject to failure due to nickel melting when the temperature of the mouse exceeds 1450C, then control is never lost due to overheating insured by the melting of nickel in the mouse.

    If the "Cat" is setup to exceed the 1450C nickel melt limit since it does not depend on nickel powder to produce the LENR reaction when stimulated by the "mouse", then the new Hot cat design can exceed the meltdown temperature and still be intrinsically safe with no danger of the loss of control due to overheating in the control unit...the mouse.

    In summary, the Cat could be using lithium only to produce the LENR reaction whereas the "mouse" still uses nickel to produce the LENR reaction.

    MAYBE - Rossi has found that the Hot cat does not need nickel to maintain the LENR reaction. Nickel is only required at low temperatures below the meltdown temperature. This might have been the surprise that Rossi says he received from his latest research after the Lugano test.

  5. Peter, I think you are forgetting the principle of operation of Defkalion by using plasma.

    And in either case, seeing the running away of these recent experiments, I proposed, I am not sure if I proposed outside private chatting, that where fusion is on nickel vapor (liquid nickel droplets), pinched by electric fields.

    In any case, I think even in low temperature fusion, there is vapor. Even in palladium The surface causes the passing of intense passing of electricity in some parts, metastable liquid hydrogen, which causes both the high temperature condition, also pinched by the same effect above.
