Today, under the pressure of events I will write about the fragmentation of the LENR community; fragmentation is an amazingly and tragically general social phenomenon, not specific for us- but damaging in any case- we are under siege we need solidarity (not liquidarity or gasidarity)
MOTTO
from a poem of Ady Endre, Hungarian author:
"Tracking On A Cart Tonight
Every Whole is broken now,
Every light is scattered and flashing,
Every love is splitting and crashing,
Every Whole is broken now."
It is really strange to see how religions that are the most powerful life organizers and sources of sense and significance and truth- have been irreversibly fragmented. See please:
The fragmentation of Christianity, from 1 to thousands of faith groups http://www.religioustolerance.org/chr_true2.htm
The Muslim religion is also tragically fragmented and I learn on the Internet that the Prophet has predicted this in a hadith:
"The Jews were split up into seventy-one or seventy-two sects; and the Christians were split up into seventy one or seventy-two sects; and my community will be split up into seventy-three sects."
This fatal fragmentation- also destructive for all ideologies is beyond my operative understanding but surely it has something to do with the fragmented Truths- see please my writing about Pareto Truths or my FQXI essay.
It is more than obvious that the LENR community is also very fragamented and it is quite depressing to see how sincerely the "fragments"- both of PdD and NiH are hating each other.
It is more than obvious that the LENR community is also very fragamented and it is quite depressing to see how sincerely the "fragments"- both of PdD and NiH are hating each other.
However the deepest and most furious Schism is between the proponents of the Wisdom Larsen non-nuclear theory of Widom and Larsen.
I even have openly stated that this is not rational:
WHY SO MUCH HOSTILITY AGAINST THE WIDOM-LARSEN THEORY?
http://egooutpeters.blogspot.ro/2013/03/why-so-much-hostility-against-widom.html
http://egooutpeters.blogspot.ro/2013/03/why-so-much-hostility-against-widom.html
It had comments but not from the mainstream LENR people or from the Widom-Larsen group.
It happens yesterday I have informed you about a new slide-share of Lew Larsen; AXIL has commented it quite nicely I think.
To my surprise, on a forum Larsen has commented very harshly. It is about me/Ego Out and negative, soI can reproduce it here:
"Peter Gluck has become a purveyor of disinformation about the Widom-Larsen theory of LENRs"
Re July 25, 2015 Ego-Out blogpost on CMNS today:
in re-publishing certain comments recently made by an individual who posts on the Vortex-L mailing list under the screen nom de plume of “Axil Axil”, Peter Gluck has become a public purveyor of inaccurate disinformation about the Widom-Larsen theory of LENRs.
Diametrically opposite to what is stated and seemingly implied in Axil Axil’s grotesquely inaccurate technical statements and inferences about our theoretical work and its conceptual history over the past 10+ years, the interrelated ideas of collective, many-body quantum-mechanically entangled surface plasmon electrons interacting electromagnetically with collective, many-body collections of quantum-mechanically entangled protons (or deuterons) in micron-scale LENR-active surface sites been an integral component of our theory since the very beginning. This fact is evidenced in our Cornell physics arXiv preprint in 2005 and subsequent publication in theEuropean Physical Journal C – Particles and Fields in 2006. In that paper, we estimated the size of such LENR-active sites --- called “coherent domains” in the paper (which is an equivalent way of saying many-body Q-M entangled ‘patch’) --- at 1 to 10 microns. In 2009, for a variety of reasons I revised that estimate of coherent domain size upward to ~ 100 microns and published it in a Lattice technical document on SlideShare.
Thus, these many-body collective quantum entanglement concepts are not some new, recent developmental twist in our theory as Axil Axil would apparently have unknowing readers believe (who may be unfamiliar with the detailed conceptual history and evolution of our work).
I chose to publish a Lattice technical PowerPoint about the recent Physical Review Letters paper by Daskalakis et al because in our theory LENR-active sites function very much like microcavities and the surface plasmons confined within the physical dimensions of such many-body ‘patches’ have predicted properties that are essentially identical to the micron-scale room temperature plasmon condensates observed by Daskalakis et al in their outstanding laboratory experiments. Thus their first-ever room temperature plasmon condensate measurements are supportive of the Widom-Larsen’s theory’s longstanding concept of the many-body collective behavior of plasmons in LENR-active sites.
See Lattice technical document dated July 23, 2015 (31 slides): http://www. slideshare.net/lewisglarsen/ lattice-energy-llc-two-facets- of-wl-theorys-lenractive- sites-supported-by-paper-in- phys-rev-lettjuly-23-2015
This is it, OK. Why should I sell misinformation about W-L- who are the potential buyers?
Unfortunately the bad gossip is that W-L is also fragmented; the sldeshares seem to come from L. alone.
And have they achieved something that smells of technology? A good theory makes this sooner or later.
My message is that I am not involved in fragmentations, anyway not in the angry mode.
See the news today- SHT has also split- fragmentation is popular!

In this moment here it is 01.20 a.m. of Sunday July 26.
The new Hot Cat is just started. She is promising well, but obviously before saying anything worth to be listened is necessary a period of several days.
Warm Regards

Gian Luca:
The aim of our R&D is to prepare an industrial massive production of a product that must have a very competitive price; if the new version will work ( I cannot know if it works or not before due R&D) it will have higher COP, more energy density, lower price, but, again, it has even to be started up for the first time. If it does not work, we’ll base the industrial production on the Hot Cat concept we already have and that has been tested in Lugano by the Independent Third Party.
Warm Regards,

The new version is smaller, I hope it will have a higher energy density.

Keep up the Great Work with LENR Peter you are a inspiration to thousands of your readers !
ReplyDeleteHistory is littered with dead gods. The Greek and Roman gods, and thousands of others have perished. Yet Allah, Yahweh, Krishna and a few more survive. But will belief in the gods endure? It will not. Our descendants will be too advanced to share such primitive beliefs.- http://reasonandmeaning.com/2015/01/24/the-end-of-religion-technology-and-the-future/
ReplyDeleteHi Peter. I understand that John Hadjichristos is pursuing farming these days. Have you been in touch with him? How is Defkalion doing? When are they coming out with the newest Hyperion?

Rossi will be out with his commercial cats in February of 2016, then all the skeptics can disappear into their nothingness, carry on Peter.
ReplyDeleteWell, let's see. Rossi said he heated a whole factory with an ecat in 2007. He built a megawatt plant in 2011 and sold 12 of them to the American military. He built a robotic factory for the home ecats.
DeleteTell me again why another nine months will be the charm when 8 years have not been enough?
you may want to ask Rossi investors starting with billion dollar fund manager Tom Darden if he made a bad investment with Rossi and his cats )
DeleteAsk him how? Is he on a public forum? How's his return on the investment so far? When will it be profitable and how do you know?
DeleteTo answer more directly, I think Darden is just the newest mark to be fooled by Rossi. By the way, Darden has made mistakes before -- whoppers:

The strange case of Konrad Zuse
ReplyDeleteKonrad Zuse was a German civil engineer, inventor and computer pioneer. His greatest achievement was the world's first programmable computer; the functional program-controlled Turing-complete Z3 became operational in May 1941. Thanks to this machine and its predecessors, Zuse has often been regarded as the inventor of the modern computer.
In 1967 after his computer company failed, Zuse suggested that the universe itself is running on a cellular automaton or similar computational structure. This concept is the foundation of digital physics, a trend of thought that has recently captured the mainstream of physics research. In 1969, he published the book Rechnender Raum (translated into English as Calculating Space).
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=atMuFCpxnUQ
At 50:00 of this video covering digital physics, a revealing anecdote tells how Zuse’s book was so revolutionary and fringe that all who knew him shunned him. People thought he was nuts. He was forced out of his profession and subsequently became an artist in order to express himself and his views of the universe in his painting.
This instance is one of many that illustrate that ideas can be too revolutionary and ahead of their time, so much so, that the people who come up with these ideas are marginalized and removed from the society in which they live. It also goes to show that thinking can change over time to evolve into the most extraordinary examples of progress in the ascent of the mind of humankind. And yet the intellectual trail breakers that propose and develope these new ideas are treated badly and relegated to the ashbin of history.
Bringing this truth about the natural development in human thought home into the progress of LENR, the reason why there is so much division, hostility, accusation, and fragmentation in the field of LENR is that there is an rapid evolution in the evaluation of and debate in the most extraordinary and revolutionary ideas that are central to the successful development of LENR.
Nonsense, Axil. It is a trivial exercise in heat transfer and fluid flow to properly test an ecat. And it has yet to be done. After 7 years of claims, there is still no good evidence that any high power LENR is real. There is nothing "revolutionary" about doing calorimetry correctly. Why doesn't Rossi do it? Why didn't Defkalion?
DeleteYour complaint is right Peter. It is strange that even within the LENR society people accuse you of incorrectness and I would expect Larson as the last one to do this. His ideas and advanced theory should be carried by the whole community and comment like that of Axil should be welcomed and lead to an open debate. Within the LENR community there is no place for 'we and them', but only for 'we'! That is the only way to let LENR survive and have it emerge to the ground breaking technology of the twenty first century.
ReplyDeleteThanks dear Marc.
DeleteLet's try to build in-community bridges. See more this evening.
Best,
Peter
Hi Peter, I enjoy your writings. I have not seen any theory in cold fusion that seems to me to be useful. For me we are still at the experimental stage.
