STILL DISORGANIZED LENT THOUGHTS.,

We are witnessing the birth of the LENR island...or is it actually an entire continent?
This birth is now a very chaotic process rocks come and go and fog is everywhere
Sudden and fast changes. 
Some inhabitants of the older part claim that the entire continent is exactly as their already familiar part.- it is an unique land form everywhere.Newcomers claim to see high mountains and abyssal valleys but are seldom believed.(now quitting my job of guide on that metaphoric island)
 I ma trying so hard to imagine a logically and factually consistent taxonomy (internal classification for the LENR field-continent)
Old or completely new concepts are necessary to describe it.
That is- how useful are the already known data can be used to describe and understand- in great lines- all the new achievements?
Similarity and difference e.g. between palladium and nickel?
Similarity and difference e.g. between light hydrogen and slower deuterium?
Nuclear, OK but how and in which extent; can we really exclude weak and collective effects?
And a bit of statistics- considering topology, nature and mechanism of the heat generating reactions (as in my 1992 paper where  I claimed that the place where reactions take place has priority)- how many kinds of LENR can exist?
What could bring LENR based on an extremist metal as tungsten?
A bit more statistics how many stages has a real LENR process already developed
to an industrial level? 
Are there really existing slow and enhanced  LENR processes and is the boarder between them indeed the Debye temperature?
Is the effect of increasing temperatures (intensification)  due o dynamic effects as I thought  already in the dawn period of Cold fusion?
What is the equilibrium between diversity and unity in the great LENR land?
In which extent do we understand the nature and role of NAE and how NAE genesis operates?
Can radiations of any kind be totally eliminated  so that the nuclear stages/nature of LENR remains hidden and harmless-inclusive legally?
Do quality leaps, sudden changes, deep metamorphoses happen in LENR?

These and similar question can get true answers only in a conceptual frame for converting chaos in order.
A first frame is tested experimentally- very probably it will be proved, but how broad it will be, the era of new discoveries has just started for LENR?

We have performed a series of experiments with a modified Rossi reactor. The experiment is more similar to the cell of Francesco Celani. We have achieved stble reproducibility at the use of hydrogen, have obtained COP 200-250% , Repeatedly verified. There are no more doubts, the LENR reaction works!

Rossi has stated in his patent that the catalyst used in his reactor is a group 10 element which includes Nickel, Palladium(1554C) and Platinum(1768C). This means that the new high temperature unit that Rossi is developing might use platinum or palladium as the catalyst. Both these metals have a melting temperature greater than nickel. Therefore, the Rossi patent might well cover his newest R&D high temperature reactor (XCat) development.

Like almost all LENR theory developed to date, this Piantelli interpretation is very narrow to the specifics of his engineering solution that he uses to generate his nickel based LENR reaction. On the other hand, the Xcat may well use platinum as the catalyst. The high operating temperature of the Xcat over the melting temperature of nickel implies this when taken together with the Rossi patent in turn implies the use of platinum as the catalytic metal.

The H- theory of the reaction may well be true for the specific implementation of the Piantelli reactor but it may not be true for the new Xcat reactor being developed by Rossi. The Piantelli theory may be an emergent consequence of a more fundamental LENR reaction mechanism. There may be hundreds of these theories that are restricted by the details of reactor implementation.

This and many other experiments in LENR have identified many mechanisms that can produce LENR reactions, Ed Storms has identified one of them, Piantelli another, and Rossi yet another. Then there is Holmlid and Dr. George Miley to add...and so on and on. LENR can also occur in both the liquid, gas and plasma phases as shown in experiments done to identify LENR over the quarter century of its most resent phase of experimental history. Identifying the NAE is a process of reduction that identifies the common factor involved over these many currently identified forms of LENR and also the many more forms that are likely to be discovered in the future. 

The fundamental causation of LENR must meet a global set of connected conditions.

These common and universal conditions include the thermalization of gamma radiation, the rapid to instantaneous stabilization of radioactive isotopes, lack of neutron emissions, and the wide variation of seemingly random transmutation results which includes fusion of light elements into heavier elements and fission of heavy elements into lighter ones, remote reaction at a distance from the location of the LENR reaction(aka NAE), and instantaneous cluster fusion involving huge numbers of sub-reactions that occur instantly and collectively. 

Even though the LENR reaction oftentimes occurs concurrent with the presence of hydrogen isotopes, hydrogen is not required as a fundamental cause of the reaction as shown in the experiments done at Proton 21 where a ball of copper is blasted with a high powered arc discharge, and the carbon dust experiments performed using microwaves conducted by George Egely, the new editor of infinite magazine. In the Proton 21 experiments, the nano-particles involved are copper based and in the Egely case the nano-particles are based on carbon. In the Papp reaction. The nano particles are based on chlorine and noble gases.

A process of reductionism needs to be applied to the understanding of LENR theory to get to the basic atomic and indivisible essence of the LENR process.

Piantelli says that Nickel must be above a pre-determined lower temperature, evidence suggest this to be Debye if Ni.

Piantelli says that you need to create H- and then use an impulsive action to force it into the Nickel. (http://goo.gl/ORrJqI) This forms the primary reaction, the "mouse" and from our Celani experiments, a COP of around 1.1. It comes from the transmutation of Ni isotopes.

By forming LiH at 250ºC from LiAlH4 in the Rossi system you create a LOT of H- (which is the first novelty) because LiH is a ionic solution (Li+ H-), all you have to do is kick it into the Nickel by raising the temperature more - which sounds a little weird, but remember you are trying to stimulate a Nuclear process from a low energy thermal one.

R3 is reversible with an equilibrium pressure of about 0.25 bar at 500 °C

Note that in the Industrial Heat patent application, it says you need a pressure of 0.25 bar (goo.gl/tFX6Qa) - but the actual reversible reaction is dependent on pressure and temperature as says wiki - so for Parkhomov 2cc of dead volume, 0.5 bar and a different pressure/temp regime may work.

According to Piantelli, some of the protons from H- fail to transmute Nickel and get ejected as protons from 0 up to 6.7 MeV (measured in cloud chamber and calculated). As Unified Gravity Corporation (UGC) has shown (http://goo.gl/8GKvWb) with earlier Lipinski work on same effect cited in latest Piantelli patent dating back to August 18th 2006 (http://goo.gl/jJ71mL) you only have to accelerate a proton to less than 225eV into Lithium target to yield around 15MeV and 2 He from 1H + 7Li. This is the secondary reaction - the "Cat". In this system, only Nickel that ejects a proton (and therefore participates in the overall reaction but is unchanged) is truly catalytic - it is this authors conjecture that under the right circumstances 62Ni will be mostly catalytic - or catalytic in the sense of Carbon in the 12C carbon cycle that is to say, if it does accept a number of 1H, it ends up returning to 62Ni.

Both UGC and Piantelli in their specific embodiments, use a low pressure environment to allow the protons to travel the distance to the Lithium before the break down. The second apparent novelty in Rossi's reactor is to have the Lithium in direct contact with the Ni as MFMP discovered following "Bang!". However Piantelli words his patent to cover this

"It is relevant that the secondary material faces the primary material, since, if a further material is present between the primary material and the secondary material, the protons would not go beyond this further material and would not reach the secondary material."

This statement covers lithium in direct contact with Nickel and the patent has a priority date of Apr 26, 2011.

Therefore, UGC have shown that low energy Protons can create Fusion/Fission of 1H and 7Li. Piantelli has provided the Proton accelerator.

The third apparent novelty (inferred by this author) in Rossi's reactor is the "inherent safety" which works over a massive range of temperatures. It is this authors suggestion that this is due to the breakdown of LiH. In part this process initiates the primary reaction by impulsively forcing H- into the Ni at the molten LiH : Ni boundary as noted above. However, at high temperatures, either caused by heat from the primary/secondary reactions or from deliberately over heating the reactor the H- is all driven out into H2 outside the Nickel with Li in between, A small amount will be in Nickel. This will subsequently allow the reactor to rapidly be cooled down and ready for re-start.

The amount of Lithium used will lower Li Al melting and LiH formation / destruction dynamics. Piantelli has also said that the secondary material must be an alloy, one embodiment suggested is Li and Al . He says that it must not be crystalline but in an amorphous state, a liquid solution of these two metals meets this need without the requirement to cool at 1000ºC per second.

So reasons for for active heating in relation to Rossi reactor is

- Maintain Ni above the minimum temperature to enable primary reaction, assumed to be Debye of Nickel
- Maintain the secondary materials in an amorphous, (not solid/crystalline) structure - in this case, liquid
- Allow for thermally driven creation and destruction of H-
- Provide impulsive action to drive available H- into Ni clusters
- Provide active, heat driven shut down of reaction by forcibly removing H- from the Li and keeping it away from Ni

Low pressure is required to allow somewhere for the H- to be released from the LiH to make H2 reservoir that can later be used to make LiH at will.

Adding extra Li will change the melting point of the mixture as well as provide more secondary fuel (See http://goo.gl/JM1UPx).

Important to the process is that Lithium has a Specific Heat Capacity of 3.56 at 25oC in J/goC and H2 has 14.267 - together, they allow for effective engineered ways of getting heat out of the systems main heat source, which is on the boundary layer between Ni and Li.

Yesterday, it seems, I have committed again a capital sin against science and truth.
I presented a Russian language paper about forbidden nuclear reactions that was in part about exploding wires and, horribile dictu! -what blasphemy! I have not immediately called the attention of the readers about the absolute truth in matters of exploding wires; see what wrote Lewis Larsen co-father of the W-L theory:

This was the second time he attacked me without any reason, I just did not know that his paper is the alpha and omega of exploding wires.

Just an non-relevant aside I like the paper cited by Lew; I will ask the opinion of some specialist about it. I have already invited the W-L scientist affiliated to LENR Cities to start discussing with their colleagues on Ego Out-  a first positive answer came from Angelo Ovidi and later...silence. The same was valid for Lew but he likes conflicts. Being hypertensive and a grumpy old man, I need conflicts just at an IQ>85.
From now on misinforming in LENR will be defined as simply NOT speaking about the great virtues of the W-L theory?

I do not see any conceptual roadblock, just I deem it totally useless, because modules of 250 kW are more than enough to pile up all the power is needed even in big plants.
Yes, the E-Cat X is also the result of a better understanding of the E-Cat. I hope, because we still have to consolidate it, even if I am very optimist.

The “voice” is good, we are relatively calm. I am working on a new patent and studying again the book of Prof. Norman Cook. He signed my copy with a dedication to me!

Experiments have identified many mechanisms that can produce LENR reactions, Ed Storms has identified one of them. LENR can also occur in both the liquid, gas and plasma phases as shown in experiments done to identify LENR over the quarter century of its most resent phase of experimental history. Identifying the NAE is a process of reduction over all these experiments that must focus on identifying the common factors involved over these many currently identified forms of LENR and also the many more forms that are likely to be discovered in the future.

The fundamental causation of LENR must satisfy a global set of connected conditions.

This generalize causation mechanism must share, transfer and accumulate energy through quantum mechanical entanglement with clusters of matter of arbitrary size. This instantaneous gleaning of energy from many distinct sources occurs within a spherical zone around an EMF vortex. This duality of causation in the results observed in the LENR reaction leads to understandable confusion. But this multiplicity in the results as produced by the fundamental cause of LENR are unified by a commonality of characteristics linked to a common origin of the effect..

INTERVIEW WITH DR. EDMUND STORMS

Based on a discussion stimulated, in part, by the coming CERN Seminar on D/H loaded palladium , Ed Storms has summarized his answers in this way. It is about the essence of the problems of the field

"LENR has two aspects, each of which has to be considered separately. The first question is where in the material does the nuclear reaction take place. In other words, were is the NAE located. This means where in space is the NAE located, such as near the surface, and what is unique about the NAE.  The LENR reaction CAN NOT take place in the normal lattice structure where it would be subjected to the well known laws that apply to such structures.  

I propose the only place able to support such a nuclear reaction while not being subjected to the known chemical requirements are cracks consisting of two surfaces with a critical gap between them.  Before the nature of the nuclear process can be discussed, a NAE must be identified and its existence must be agree to.  Failure to do this has resulted in nothing but useless argument with no progress in understanding or causing the phenomenon.

Once the characteristics of the NAE are identified, a mechanism can be proposed to operate in this NAE with characteristics compatible with this environment.  Attempts to propose a mechanism without identifying the NAE are doomed to failure.  Without knowing the NAE, we are unable to test the characteristics of the nuclear mechanism to see if it can take place in an ordinary material and we are unable to know how to create a potentially active material. 

This requirement is so basic, further discussion is pointless unless agreement is achieved. 

This is not a normal physics problem where any idea can be made plausible simply by making a few assumptions. The nature of the chemical environment prevents many assumptions. We are proposing to cause a nuclear reaction in ordinary material where none has been seen in spite of enormous effort and none is expected based on well understood theory. A significant change in the material must first take place. This change must be consistent with the known laws of chemistry. Only the creation of cracks meets this requirement. 

Once the NAE is identified, the characteristics of the nuclear reaction must be consistent with what is known. Simply proposing behavior based on general physics concepts is useless.  For example, the role of perturbed angular correlations, which you suggest, must be considered in the context of the entire proposed reaction.  The question means nothing in isolation.  Like many proposed mechanisms, the idea cannot be tested because it has no clear relationship to the known behavior of LENR or to the variables known to affect the phenomenon. 

This is not a guessing game. We now have a large collection of behavior all models most explain.  Why not start by considering models that are consistent with this information?"

Scientists who dare to not be as everybody else that new ways in knowledge are opened.

We have repeatedly stated that during the development of sciences, dogma start to get a status of dominant, prejudicial knowledge- that has happened in biology, physics and in chemistry. We had witnessing how the teaching of “the composition and the properties of compounds do not depend on the way by which it was obtained” was ruined/removed by nanotechnology. It was shown how the properties are essentially changed by nanotechnology, for example how gold ceases to be a noble metal.

Today we can state that there exist numerous experiments the results of which cannot be explained by the generally accepted knowledge of the present. And the task of science is not to get rid of them but to make efforts to discover their truths. The position” this cannot be now, therefore it can never be” is obviously convenient but does not lead to explanation. More than that, unexplained, still incomprehensible experiments can be harbingers of new discoveries as it has happened so many times.

One of the domains hot in both literal and figurative senseIs Low Energy Nuclear Reactions-LENR. We have asked Stepan Nikolaevich Andreev, doctor in physico-mathematical sciences, working at the Institute of General Physics named after A.M. Prokhorov of the Russian Academy of Sciencesto introduce us to the main problems and to some scientific experiments performed in Russian and foreign laboratories and published in scientific journals. Experiments- that we are still not able to explain.

A very well and clearly written paper. It speaks first about the Rossi reactor, describes the Lugano experiment, discusses power and energy obtained. After that the electric explosions
in wires are presented in context and in some detail- see: G.L.Wendt, C.E.Irion, « «Journal of the American Chemical Society», 1922, 44, 1887—1894, Rutherford himself has called the attention of the scientist to the Wendt_Irion experiment. However they were forgotten and only 90 years later a Russian team lead by Leonid Irbekovich Urutskoev has continued them (Ego Out has discussed with Urutskoev anabout these achievements and their non-conformist interpretation as collective nuclear phenomena)
Other interesting studies are focused on the acceleration of alpha=decays under the ingfluence of lasers. also Russian papers cited. Nuclear reactions in biology are also discussed- see Kornilova and Vysotskii The reproducibility problem is also discussed and the outstanding success of Alexander Parkhomov.
The phenomena cannot be explained by known theories, new ones have to be found- perhaps tunneling plays a role?

The Sidney Kimmel Institute for Nuclear Renaissance (SKINR) was created in 2012 at the University of Missouri to perform fundamental research on the fact that excess heat is sporadically produced during electrolysis of heavy water on Pd cathodes. We call this phenomenon, discovered in 1989, the anomalous heat effect (AHE) since its origin is unknown. This talk will begin with presentation of the landscape of the field of AHE as it is today, review anomalous heat data, and discuss why local scale – atomic scale – methods are essential, looking forward, to understand the phenomena going on. In this context we expect that perturbed angular correlations (PAC) data may provide clues that would aid developing a model for AHE. 

The second part of the presentation covers ENEA’s research of the material science of cathode preparation, pre and post materials analyses, and status of the cathode during excess heat production. 

The third part of the presentation will review our recent preliminary in-situ PAC measurements performed at the SSP labs at ISOLDE during the electrolysis in 0.1 M LiOH or LiOD for 181Hf implanted Pd cathodes at the BONIS – HISKP Bonn separator. The data for LiOD electrolyte show anomalous, variable high frequency electric field gradient (EFG) components that appear / disappear near specific loading ratio of D/Pd that is not evident for LiOH electrolyte. This high frequency component does not appear in static samples so it may be attributed to the dynamics of D loading at the 30 nm implantation depth of the Hf. Details of the data analysis and possible explanations will be discussed, as well as possible complementary experiments to further elucidate the findings.

Dear Andrea,

1 – Was lithium used in your first public experiment in 2011?

2 – Was lithium used in the test Dr. Levi conducted in 2011 in which a reactor heated water from 15C to 20C and produced an average of 15kW for 18 hours?

3 – What was the best COP you ever achieved with only nickel and hydrogen (no other additives)?

4 – Since everything else has been revealed about the Lugano experiment, can you tell us how much open space was in the inner steel tube after fuel and the plugs were added?

5 – In the Lugano test, was there an air tight seal to contain the hydrogen?

6 – Will Industrial Heat ever publish any educational materials about the Rossi Effect for universities?

7 – There is no way of knowing yet how much power in heat or electricity the E-Cat X will produce. However, if the crystal ball says it is remotely possible the heat output might be three kilowatts, how many watts of electrical output would you be satisfied with for the crystal ball to predict? For example, if a fortune teller predicted that the E-Cat X could power one, hundred watt lightbulb, would that be above or below your goal?

The 1 MW E-Cat is working at 3/4 of the power because we have problems in one reactor, The other 3 reactors are stable and well.

A painful truth asserted by the leading LENR researcher, Edmund Storms: "the basic problem with LENR during its entire history is the failure to understand and master the controlling variables." I have concluded the same however being an engineer I speak about "actionable parameters"- the true, deep, hidden ones were never determined/found. (to note that Ed Storms is investigating the problem, see 1) at Daily News)
It is undeniable for the original PdD wet electrolytic system, despite the thousands of experiments performed by hundreds of good scientists worldwide for more than 26 years those variables are unknown and only some factors of influence as global loading, current density etc. as described e.g.  in Storms's fundamental and integral 
review books have been discovered. 
In my opinion this situation is intolerable and generates a great question: Why- how was this possible? Is lack of founding, lack of instruments or- horribile dictu! is it a proof of the weakness of the LENR scientists - as a whole? 
NO! I have a simple but surprising and nonconformist answer: the actionable parameters were not found simply because they do not exist at all, are absent from the PdD system. And, in a not very optimist note- will be never found there.
LENR there exists beyond any doubt but does not live, grow and cannot be developed, scaled up.
The PdD system does not work because it has just an aleatory small density active sites (NAE if you wish) and many of these are poisoned by the alien (not hydrogen) gases present- no LENR system works if not deeply degassed. But the main reason is that below the Debye temperature of the metal- the hydrogen/metal systems are static- the number of active sites does not change much. Over this temperature limit a   dynamic mechanism of continuous generation of active sites starts with increasing intensity at higher temperatures.
Please pray that this is an erroneous idea- and a great number of active sites can be generated at lower temperatures.

Here is the next installment in the LENR saga.  Although the electrolytic method was the first to demonstrate LENR and has been the most popular method, the important variables are still not understood and many theories are chasing the wild goose as result.  This ignorance has to be eliminated for progress to be made.  This report shows some preliminary results and the path that will be followed in later work.  If this project is successful in making active material, the path to replicate the results will be clear and the results will be easy to accept. A bad reputation is near impossible to overcome. Rossi’s reputation for honesty and integrity is as bad as it comes. How will Rossi overcome this problem? I am amazed at how hard it is to convince people that LENR works. 

Rossi says that he will begin selling his reactors very soon by the kiloton. Is this a real expectation or a fantasy? Out side of Steve Jobs, when was a great inventor a savy seller. 

Tomas Edison lost control of all his electrical inventions when J.P. Morgan took control of the Edison Electricity Company and turned it into General Electric.

The board of Edison General Electric decided to adopt AC power, and dropped Edison's name; the company was now called "General Electric." Edison would refuse to set foot in any General Electric plants for the next 30 years, but his ability to reinvent himself matched his scientific prowess. In the second half of his life he would invent the first motion picture camera, improve his phonograph, and become America's first entertainment mogul. "People will forget," he stated with typical bravado, "that my name ever was connected with anything electrical." Could this happen to Rossi?

Rossi has his vision of how the future of his product will unfold, but is that vision realistic? A seller needs willing buyers no matter how much product that the seller can produce, and no matter how cheap his product is. Everybody thinks that LENR is a fraud. Will a manulacuer let a nucler device inside his plant? How will Rossi convince the buyer that his product is safe? How will Rossi convince buyers that his product works. If Rossi intends to sell his product in the near future, he must create demand for his product now. He must do something to change his damaged reputation right now. Rossi has never been concerned about what people thought about him, but that must change fast. How can Rossi turn his damaged reputation around? Rossi must convince everyone that he can be trusted and his product is real. Rossi has no marketing plan in place. No matter how many reactors that his megaplant can produce, his product will set in the warehouse unwanted and unsold were these reactors will collect dust unless he can convince people to by them.

Demand takes time to create. How will Rossi sell his product? Can Rossi change his mindset from complete IP protection and lockdown to ab open ended sharing of his patent protected knowhow? I personally thing that this mental task will be too much for Rossi to handle. A miser cannot become a spendthrift overnight.

Microsoft was the first to produce a tablet computer many years ago It took Apple to create demand for that product through innovative design. Rossi should understand that producing a product does not mean people will buy it if they don’t trust you.
