This may be the strongest archetypal image of our time. Seen as that fragile blue and white sphere seen against the backdrop of intergalactic space. The parable of seeking honesty, not finding it reflected in most of those seeking the power of prestige and control, is an important parable for our time as well.

As our strong survival instinct evolves to include each of each other and all life on the planet as a whole, our capacity for truth love and wisdom will also evolve.

This, of course, is a very long process. Parables created are a reflection of our mental and emotional capacity to love, care and survive, or expose a lack thereof. Anyway, the old Emperor knew too well his people and he surely was surprised to find a honest man between lots of cheaters.

You raise the problem of duality- thinking in two colors- I will try to write an essay about it.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-326167780677397310.post-63803998991826760632011-02-14T19:04:25.434-08:002011-02-14T19:04:25.434-08:00It is said that "beauty is in the eye of the ...It is said that "beauty is in the eye of the beholder", but so is evil by lthe same token; like the acient Ying-Yang symbol they complement each other in an eternal embrace. Pandora's Box released Hope, the emperor devised a test to find a youth who might not be seduced by the exercise of power. There is no evidence, none, that that the emperor was the cause of the greed of his people. The story is old because it resonates with the duality of inpulses of humans, who do not understand themselves and holds a mirror in which we see ourselves.Mike Carrellnoreply@blogger.com
